We are getting a new upgraded membership card for the 2012-2013 year. These are the new upgrades. Two logos one of the National PTA and one of the State PTA logos.
Activation information and instruction will be printed on the card. You can activate your card online at pta.org/activate or call a 1-800 number printed on both sides of your membership card. Information needed to activate your card:
What if I don't activate my card? We hope everyone will activate their cards but if you choose not to you are still a PTSA member and can get all the benefits. To receive these benefits please email us at [email protected] and we will give you the instruction you need to get your benefits. Do I need to pay membership fees at multiple schools? This is the most asked question and the one with the most controversy. The easy answer is "yes". This is why. If you pay the fees at one school you will be a national and state PTA member and get all their benefits. You will also be a member of the PTA/PTSA of the school the fees are paid at but not at any other school if fees are not paid. You have to be a paid member at any school that you hold a board position and/or chair/commission a PTA/PTSA program. Each school gets to keep a portion of every membership dues collected. PTA's use these fees collected to help fund the many programs that they give to the students and schools. If we loss this money we either have to do more fundraising or cut programs/events. Are membership cards available in other languages? Yes, in Spanish but they need to be ordered and will not arrive at the same time as the English printed cards. If you want a Spanish printed cards please email us and we will get them as soon as possible. Why does PTA want my email address to activate my card?
Any other question or concerns you can email to [email protected] Free sucker every month for our student PTSA members! Sucker can be redeemed during lunch time on any Tuesday. We have lots of flavors to choose from. Suckers must be claimed each month or the student member forfeits that month's free sucker. How are we funded? We are funded by three sources:
PTSA Memberships Fees are $7 per person Sucker Sales Fundraiser We sell suckers every Tuesday at lunch and at several of our school concerts. This is the main sources of our funding. Suckers cost $0.75 each. Donations We accept any donation. We didn't want to have fundraisers that would require us to have students to go door to door or pressure parents to buy a product. Funding is very important for our programs and events to keep being available to our school and children. Please help us by helping with one or all of our funding opportunities. What Do We Do?There is PTA at Pleasant Grove Junior High?! You better believe it!
Pleasant Grove Jr. High PTSA is an active part of our school community. We have many similarities to the elementary version of PTA, but with a few added benefits, and a few less responsibilities. We are still involved as parents, working with faculty and administration, for the benefit of all students. We’d love for you to help us. Here is what PTA volunteers do at PG Jr:

Why have a student membership. Our PTSA stands for Parent Teacher Student Association. We have student members for several reasons. We have several programs and events that are wonderful experiences for secondary school students. It is a great age to help develop community, charity and responsibilities in our children. They are old enough to understand what we do and why we do it.
Benefits for student members They get all the benefits that all members get. They get to participate in all PTA programs and events. They can receive a free sucker each month. Opportunity to be awarded a $500 scholarship as a senior. To JoinTo join PGJHS PTSA you can sign up and pay during school registration or you can click on the bottom below and it will take you to the school Fees page.
